AFCON 2013: Dbanj to perform at Closing Ceremony

Nigerian entertainer D’Banj, real name Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo Dbanj will be performing live at the closing ceremony of the afcon this Sunday.
The former Mo-Hit star will be performing his popular motivational ditty, Top of the World, at the Afcon closing ceremony at National Stadium in Crown Mines outside Soweto on Sunday evening.
“I am honored and words fail to describe the warmth I get from my fans in this country,” D’Banj said. “I am looking forward to having more than 6.6-billion viewers globally watch my performance.”
D’Banj will share the stage with local acts including Micasa, Kelly Khumalo, Zonke Dikana, and Thembisile Ntaka. Micasa’s frontman, J Something, whose real name is Joao da Fonseca.

Aliko Dangote has splashed the sum of N130 million on the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles for reaching the final of the ongoing 29th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.

The Eagles reached the final of AFCON 2013 by thrashing the Malian national team 4-1 in the semi-final match on Wednesday.A statement from Dangote Group explained that the gesture is part of Dangote Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to promote and encourage sport development in Nigeria.  The donation is to acknowledge the exploits of the national team at the AFCON and stimulate them to bring home the coveted trophy.

Preschool Closing After Alleged séx Between 4 and 5 Year Olds

A California preschool is reportedly shutting down after disturbing allegations of sèxual activity among several of its 4- and 5-year-old students emerged.

First Lutheran Church of Carson School is closing midsemester amid reports that two boys received oral sèx from a 5-year-old girl on school grounds,

Attorney Greg Owen, who is representing some of the children's families, said the sèxual acts took place at nap time, at a school playground and at an outside bathroom.

"It all boils down to a lack of supervision," Owen told ABC News. "There were times when teachers would let aides in the room for hours at a time to watch the kids. During nap time, the aides would be sleeping, and the children would have been molesting each other during this time."

Owen is representing several parents who are planning to file a lawsuit against the Carson, Calif., school, which has allegedly been cited by the California Department of Social Services for "at least one sèxual incident that involved young students."

School officials told KABC that its decision to close comes after the school director resigned due to personal reasons and has nothing to do with the allegations.

Parent Richard McCarthy says that's far from the truth.

He said his son received oral sèx from the young girl on multiple occasions.

"He told me about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him," McCarthy told the local station. "It went down in the classroom, it went down in the bathroom and it went down out on the playground."

At least one other boy allegedly received oral sèx from the same girl.

"Their lives will be ruined in many ways," Owen told ABC News of the children. "And we know there are many more (victims)."

Parents, meanwhile, are struggling to find new schools for their kids.

"There's no way I can just take him to another school and be that parent that just lets a predator loose," McCarthy said of his son. "How else do you explain it?"

McCarthy said he spoke to three other parents who are worried about sending their kids elsewhere.

"Parents are saying, ‘My child is now a predator. Now how can I let him go to another school?’" he explained.

"There were many children lying there, and they watched these acts. In our business and in psychological terms, that's sexualizing a child at a young age."

Woman Arrested After Breaking Into Ex’s Home and Attacking His New Girlfriend While They Slept In Be

A bitter Florida bartender broke into her firefighter ex-fiancé's home as he slept in bed with his new lover and tried to strangle her, police have revealed.

Jealous 27-year-old Kelly Custis barged into David Lewis' bedroom at on Monday and reportedly launched a vicious attack on his new girlfriend.

Police say scratched Shelley Graham, 28, on her chest, arms and face - and ripped out clumps of her hair which were later found on the bathroom floor.

Police say Lewis dialed 911 and that the fight could be heard in the background when he was speaking to the dispatcher.

According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal Lewis said during the call, "'I have my ex-fiancée in my bed. And I've got another girl in my house."

The dispatcher asks him, "The girls are fighting in your bed?" Lewis, 31, replies 'yes' and then says he needs the police.

He is then heard shouting at the women, begging them to stop their brawl.

Police arrived and Custis, a bartender at Fourth Street Bar and Grille in Daytona Beach, Florida, was arrested and charged with burglary with assault or battery.

Custis was released by a judge from Volusia County Branch Jail later in the day, the publication reports.

E.M.E boss, Banky W debunked reports of Wizkid’s break up from the record label.

Mr Capable said the label is currently re-negotiating the contract of Wizkid and that they are in the middle of the negotiation which they hope an agreement will be met soonest.

“Wizkid is going international and as a result we have to re-negotiate the contract he signed.

Wizkid has his own idea of how he wants to do things and he has plans for himself too.

Wizkid is still with us, there’s no problem, things will be sorted out soon”  Banky W told Silverbird.

Cote D’Ivoire’s Captain Didier Drogba has hailed the Super Eagles for their inspiring outing at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and said the team could win the tournament if they perform against others like they did against them
The Eagles beat the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire 2-1 in the ongoing 2013 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals.

“I was very impressed with the Super Eagles’ performance against us (Ivory Coast). It’s proof of hard work, relentlessness and the sign of a world-class team in preparation,” he said, after the game that shattered the Afcon dream of the highly-rated Ivorian side.

“I don’t really see any team that can withstand Nigeria for the rest of the tournament. They keep improving by each game and level of the competition. That shows it’s a hardworking and resilient outfit. If they must take the trophy home they have to keep working, be creative and challenge any side like they engaged us.

“Wishing for and seeing victory is not enough. I feel this is Nigeria time but they must deserve it by proving it more on the pitch. The fact that the team arrived with a number of home-based players means we have to give them praise because that tells us there is football even within the continent,” he said.

The former Chelsea striker also sent comforting words to his home fans, a number of whom are holding him responsible for the team’s debacle at the tournament.

“Fans ought to know that football is sometimes funny and bizarre. Sometimes you play well and you lose and others time you don’t put up a good game but you win. We did our best, it didn’t work out. 10 Questions To Ask Yourself Before Getting Into A Serious Relationship

Let's say you've been careful about the people you date. In time, you'll probably find yourself liking one person a lot. It looks like it's getting serious.

1. Is our relationship about mutual trust? A relationship can't survive without honesty and openness. If lies creep into the relationship, it's time to get truthful, or call it quits.

2. Can we be ourselves when we're together? If you have to be somebody you're not, or if either of you feels you must put up a front, then you're in the wrong relationship.

3. Are either of us overly possessive? Words and phrases like "smothered" and "jealous" come to mind. If one of you can't move without the other one knowing it, then possessiveness is a big problem. If this happens, both of you need some space, and maybe you even need to back away from the relationship. These traits are red flags that your boyfriend or girlfriend may become abusive.

4. Do we regularly have good conversations? Chat room-type chatter is fine. But now and then you need to have a conversation that goes a bit deeper—that lets you know each other's likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, hopes and dreams.

5. Have we set physical limits? This question is extremely important and often difficult to answer, especially if a relationship has already become too physical. 8. Do we have a good understanding of what forgiveness means? People mess up. That's just the way it is. That's why it's important to forgive each other. Holding grudges because you've been wronged kills a relationship. On the other hand, no one should say "forgive me" when they really mean "accept my faults and don't expect me to change." If you want to regain trust, if you want to keep the relationship healthy, then changes must be made.

The Bible calls these changes "repentance" (Acts 26:20, NIV), and it means that you will, with God's help, stop doing the behavior that got you into trouble in the first place.

9. Can we disagree agreeably? Can you handle disagreements without screaming, sulking, or slamming phones or doors? And what about compromise? A relationship isn't about winning, it's about wanting what's best for each other. If either of you must always win, you're in a no-win relationship.

10. Do we keep God at the center? Jesus Christ needs to be the center of each of your lives and of each of your relationships. This obviously means being able to have good conversations about what God is teaching each of you. It also means that each of you is committed to personal spiritual growth. And it means having Christian friendships (apart from each other) that hold you accountable and help you live out your faith. All in all, an exciting faith adventure is key to an exciting dating relationship.

 A Barcelona fan invaded the pitch in yesturday's match-up between Argentina and Sweden to give his footy hero a nice aul peck on the forehead. Messi didn't seem to mind.

Argentina beat the Swedes 3-2 in tonight’s friendly in Stockholm and while Messi remained scoreless, he still received quite a bit of attention.

Near the end of the match a fan wearing the Barcelona no.10 shirt ran onto the pitch and planted a big kiss on the Argentine’s forehead and in typical Messi fashion, he just stood there and took it. He's used to this adulation lark at this stage.

After kissing his hero, the pitch invader slowly walked away and was quickly caught by the stewards, but at that stage he couldn’t have cared less.

Not too long ago Messi received another kind gesture from a fan in the form of a hug and reacted in the same fashion.

If there's one thing that Kanye West should have known before buying an $11 million mansion with Kim K, is that Kim is never letting go of her world-famous last name.

 The marriage-tradition-observing Kanye seems to be very upset with his heartthrob Kim not wanting to change her last name for him. A source told Star Magazine:

 "Kanye is very disappointed and upset about the whole thing but Kim refuses to budge."

 Didn't Kanye know that Kim is a really adamant person, she always gets what she wants? Just like how she went on to marry Kriss against the opinion of her family. 

 Apart from that, it is also being said that she thinks their soon-to-be-born baby should bear her last name since it's become so famous on its own. As much as Kanye might let Kim stay a Kardashian, we don't think he'll allow that for his baby- that's like robbing him off his fatherly pride.
