Actress, Foluke Daramola Set To Drag Friend To Court For Defamation Of Character

Actress Foluke Daramola is getting ready to sue her former friend and journalist Bukola Fasuyi for defamation of character.
Bukola had claimed in an interview that she introduced Foluke to her new husband, Kayode Salako, and that Foluke had used juju to charm Kayode and break his home.
According to people close to Foluke, she and some family members have contacted their lawyer to sue Bukola for character assassination. Bukola will soon appear in court to prove that Foluke indeed used diabolical means to obtain Kayode Salako.

Bukola told an Encomium reporter this week that she's not bothered about a lawsuit and is waiting to get the petition from Foluke's lawyers. She said she still feels bad for introducing Foluke to Kayode because the introduction was for Foluke to get financial help from Kayode and not to take him from his wife.

"I'm not bothered about a lawsuit though Kayode has sent a threat message to me that we would meet in court. I'm more bothered about Kayode's wife. I hope she forgives me" She said.

Friends, Nollywood, govt abandoned me — Ailing star, Peter Bruno

The Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, born actor who narrated his ordeal in tears to The Nigerian Compass on Sunday, recently said he is bitter with his colleagues though he prayed God to touch their lives. He revealed how everyone including some of the young actors and actress he mentored in the industry abandoned him since the stroke he suffered.

The actor who spoke to The Nigerian Compass on Sunday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, where he is recuperating also expressed his disappointment with Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo (a.k.a. RMD), a close friend of his, whom he claimed suddenly ignored him.

"This man Richard, I remember we did a lot of things together before now. That is the world for you. In fact, he organised and hosted me when I visited Asaba, when I was healthy. He promised this and that, but the moment I had this problem, he started dodging me.

I remember one day that I managed to get to his office in Asaba to seek his assistance. Upon seeing me, approaching from afar he told his personal assistants to tell me that he was not around. But he did not know that I saw him from a very far place.

That is human being for you. For me, this stroke has thought me a lesson and I have learnt not to put my trust in any man as my bible tells me.
"Up till now, many of them believed I would die."

Bruno said that since his travails started, he has not received a common phone call from any of his former colleagues in Nollywood "not to talk of assistance." He said that many rather prefer to hear his obituary or any other bad news as they have even started spreading rumour that he is dead.

"I had a stroke and that was the end of it. I was unconscious, and if you are unconscious you are dead. It was when I opened my eyes that I realised that I was in a church here in Delta State. I don't even know when they brought me down to this place. When I opened my eyes, I was so hungry.

I had not eaten for along time. All I could remember was that I was in admission for a long time before they took me to a church where God healed me.

"Again, all I can say now is "Thank my God that I am alive. I have also given my life to Jesus Christ as you can see that I am now a Pastor," Bruno said.

He said that when he would not recall exactly when he was hit by the strange illness as one of the effect of stroke is one that makes one to forget his past.

"If I tell you that this was the particular day I had this stroke then I did not have stroke. Up till now, I am still trying to find out how this stroke hit me and how they brought me here in Asaba. Because when you are hit with stroke you will even forget your own name. I forgot my name.

In fact, I never knew I still exist. Up to the time they took me to the bible school I never knew. That is stroke for you. I pray that no man experiences it. I am happy, T getting better. God is in control. And I will not give glory to any man but God who has healed me."

Though sidelined from for the past one year, the popular actor also thanked God that the stroke did not that sniff life out of him. He noted that the journey of his life in the past one year has been an uncharted script that has taken him from the throes of death to the land of the living.

"Let me tell you the truth, after I had this stroke I did not know how I was looking. That is why I am not happy with this so-called people you call my colleagues. But I forgive all of them because God has transformed my life. Do you know that some of them that I had hoped on have not even made any effort to assist me and 1 believe that they are all aware of my present condition? I remember there were some of them I met recently. Do you know that when they saw me they were surprise because of the way they were looking, at me? They made me look like a Methuselah. They never recognised me because my face was not looking good."

Bruno who has featured in numerous movies and television productions again thanked God for being there for him since the illness. He said it pained him that he committed all his talent to making Nollywood a big industry and putting smiles on the faces or Nigerians only for his colleagues to forget him at adiretime.

On whether other interests apart from Nollywood has made any effort to assist him, he hinted that government is yet to come to his assistance.

"I went to speak with my state governor and 1 believe he is a wonderful man. He has a great passion for all Deltans. But I am still trying my best to see how I could reach Governor Uduaghan, which has not been possible. I believe that if l can have access to him, he will assist me. Since this thing happened there has been no single actor that called me to ask about my condition. It is a shame to them.

"Would they say they don't know that 1 have been down in the last one year? I am saying this because I know what I did for many of them. I now feel that the industry is full of ungrateful people."

Bruno said he now feels that many of his colleagues are empty because they have denied themselves the opportunity of showing compassion to their fellow human beings during trying periods. He reasoned that what is to blame is the limit of their understanding of the power of empathy.

"I actually do not think it is now necessary to have any bad feeling against any of them because many of them, especially, the young actors think that money is everything. But that is hypocrisy. When one is sick, then he knows who is his or her friend. I thank God that he has not ignored me. God has showered his blessings on me and that is why I am happy," he said.

Stella Damasus Suspected of Infidelity Leading to Her Hubby's Death?

I've received different messages on this controversial issue in the past but I ignored them because too many names were mentioned and most of them are popular people that you would expect wont do such. However, the matter was brought to the fore again recently.

As soon as news broke that Actress Stella Damasus got married to Deniel Ademinokan outside the shores of Nigeria, the matter surfaced again. But this time from insiders also...

The gist at the disposal of Olufamous is too dirty so we'll try to "refine" it and just take only the side of relatives of the late Jaiye Aboderin. Our source said it is strongly believed that Stella was cheating on him with "some actors" and that a member of the family even "saw" something. This, it is alleged, contributed to the heart problem that killed her first husband.

But how true are these allegations?
Late Jaiye Aboderin's elder sister, Wunmi Obe dropped a bombshell as soon as she heard that Stella has snatched Doris Simeon's husband. See her tweet below and try to read between the lines:

One Thing I Regret Most Is That I'm Divorced'' -Actress, Monalisa

When it comes to beauty in Nollywood, one of the names that will quickly come to mind is that of Monalisa Chinda.
But the unfortunate thing about her is that she is presently living alone. Her marriage to Dejo Richards packed up few years ago due to some irreconcilable differences.
While she alleged that Dejo physically abused her in the marriage, those in the camp of her ex-husband denied that, alleging that she caused the seperation.

Though Dejo has since married another woman, Monalisa has remained unmarried, though she was recently romantically linked with Lagos socialite, Lanre Nzeribe. The relationship is being kept under the carpet with none of the two denying or confirming the romance tale.

In a recent interview, Monalisa confessed her regrets having to raise the only product of her marriage with Dejo Richards. The union produced Tamar, a beautiful daughter.

According to the UNIPORT Theatre Arts graduate, “one thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. That's the only thing I regret, having to raise my child without the father.”

She further added that, “it is a bit painful. But I have to live with it. It's better that way than to expose my little daughter to all sorts of domestic violence. It will definitely affect her upbringing. She will be dis-functional. God knows the best. Maybe, I should have been more careful.”

'I really don’t know why he is denying..two of us are legally married' - John Dumelo's wife

Handsome actor, John Dumelo’s public denial of his supposed marriage to US based actress and model, Harrina Alexander Dembele has not brought closure to the matter yet.

Only last Thursday, Harrina was on phone to Peace FM’s Entertainment Review programme in an exclusive interview, insisting that John married her at a court in Virginia on March 11, 2013.

“I really don’t know why he is denying but we have gone through all the court processes and the two of us are legally married”, she said.

Asked why her supposed husband, John Dumelo, had denied ever marrying her, Harrina also asked, “I don’t understand why anyone will believe a story about someone making a documentary movie for a clothing line and getting married to six different women in different countries as part of the movie?”

“It doesn’t make sense. I didn’t play any role in the documentary he talks about. We are married and that is it. I never did a movie with John so that is a lie”, she disclosed.

Explaining why she has kept her relationship a secret all this while, she said “When he said he was going to marry me, he asked me to keep it a secret until his clothing line came out. I decided to listen to him because I loved him and I trusted him, it didn’t really make sense but I went along with it”.

Narrating how they got married, Harrina whose father is Nigerian and her mother American, said actor John Dumelo just woke up one day and said they should get married. “I didn’t even think he was serious about the marriage at first until he came to my house one morning and he said lets go do it. Still I didn’t think he was serious until we actually did it”.

She said they married without the involvement of any family member from either side but now everybody knows about it.

Asked if she is still communicating with John, she said “I have spoken to John on several occasions. John called me the other day. He wanted us to meet up and discuss everything and for some odd reasons we never got to meet up and he has refused to text me back because he is scared am going to take his text messages out and he refused to pick up the phone now because he is mad that I told the truth about the situation".

She emphasised that “I don’t really see why I will lie about getting married to John Dumelo. He must be famous over there but over here he is not really that famous and to me he is not famous,

I just see him as John Dumelo. I don’t see him as someone who is popular. I will never lie about being married to someone like John Dumelo”.

Harrina confirmed she still loved John but he had disgraced her and family enough so she doesn’t want to be married to him anymore. She would have asked for a divorce but, according to her, the laws at Maryland where she lives did not allow a divorce until after one year. “Unfortunately I have to stay married to him for one year before I can get a divorce”.

SAD: Bride drowns on Wedding Day, Body Found

After a popular global report of a woman who has been swept away while taking wedding photos in her wedding gown, the bride has now been identified, according to news media reports.

The bride posed for wedding photos late Friday when she got sucked into a river and was dragged to her death by her own wedding dress that was heavily soaked in water.

"I tried to save her. I tried, I tried, I tried," wedding photographer, Louis Pagakis, told the news media. Pagakis said that the woman now identified as 30-year-old Laval, Quebec realtor Maria Pantazopoulos, wanted a picture of herself swimming in her dress.

Canadian police told reporters that the woman had fallen off a cliff and plunged to death. They said she was a bride-to-be, according to reports. Later in the day, police corrected the reports, telling the news media that the woman only had her feet in the river.

They said her dress absorbed a lot of water and threw her into the water. She was eventually dragged away by the current. The police reported to the scene and soon found the woman's body about four hours later. Two witnesses, who were not named, were taken to a local hospital for shock.

Desperate Mother Injects 14-Year-Old Daughter With Spérm In Order To Have Another Child To Raise

A woman desperate for another child forced her 14-year-old daughter to get pregnant using syringes of donor spérm, a British judge said.In a ruling reported for the first time Monday, High Court judge Peter Jackson said the mother had behaved in “a wicked and selfish way” that almost defied belief. The judge said the woman, an American divorcee living in Britain with three adopted children, hatched the plan after she was prevented from adopting a fourth.
The scheme involved getting her oldest daughter to inseminate herself with syringes of spérm purchased over the Internet from a Denmark-based company, Cryos International.Jackson said the daughter, identified only as A, “became pregnant at the mother’s request, using donor spérm bought by the mother, with the purpose of providing a fourth child for the mother to bring up as her own.”In his ruling, the judge quoted the teenager as saying said she was shocked by the suggestion, but thought, “If I do this … maybe she will love me more.”“My mum is a very determined person and she does her best not to let anything get in her way if she wants it,” the teenager added.
The judge said the mother also made the teenager use douches of vinegar or lemon and lime juice in hopes of increasing her chances of having a girl. The judge said it was likely but not certain that the daughter soon became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.
After six more attempts with the donor spérm, she gave birth to a baby boy in July 2011, when she was 17.But midwives at the hospital became alarmed by the odd behavior of A’s mother. Her daughter wanted to breastfeed the baby, but her mother said: “We don’t want any of that attachment thing.”The hospital alerted the authorities, and the children were taken into foster care.
The mother is now serving a five-year jail term for child cruelty.Details of the case were heard during proceedings at the family division of the High Court over the children’s future last year. They were reported for the first time Monday after several British media organizations, including the publisher of The Guardian newspaper, challenged reporting restrictions.
A court order bars identifying the family members in order to protect the children.
