The 66 Albums We're Looking Forward To The Most In 2014

Taylor Swift, Rick Ross, Black Keys, Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar top our list of most anticipated releases.

Thanks to Beyoncé's atomic surprise attack, not to mention epic releases from Lady Gaga, Eminem, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry, 2013 was a stellar year for music.
But, believe it or not, 2014 holds the promise of even more amazing releases, and MTV News has compiled a list of our 66 most anticipated albums of the year. From Kendrick Lamar to Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Broken Bells, Rick Ross, Austin Mahone, Skrillex and Kendrick Lamar, we will spend the first full week of the year telling you everything we know about the hottest rock, pop, hip-hop, R&B and EDM projects on the horizon.
Check back every day this week for another list of albums you won't want to miss.
Here's a preview of what you'll be reading about:
Hip-Hop
Kendrick Lamar: K.Dot crushed it in 2013 with his debut, his killer "Control" verse and seven Grammy nominations, so expect him to raise the lyrical bar again in 2014.

Kanye West: While Yeezus left some fans confounded, a new album in the works with Q-Tip and Rick Rubin could give 'Ye fans the sound they know and love.

Schoolboy Q: The Black Hippy MC has given a preview of what we can expect on Oxymoron with "Collard Greens" and "Man of the Year."

Rick Ross: Rozay is making fans wait for sixth solo album Mastermind, but it might be worth it thanks to a sample of Notorious B.I.G. on "You're Nobody (Until Somebody Kills You)."

Chance the Rapper: How do you follow a smash mixtape like Acid Rap? With a promised "Social Experiment" that has rap fans on the edge of their seats.

Nicki Minaj: Is 2014 the year Nicki takes back the New York rap crown from Kendrick? It sounds like after a trip into the pop world Minaj is ready to get back to basics.

Meek Mill: He's given us some amazing Dreamchasers mixtapes, so now fans are ready for a full length from Meek.

T.I.: After scrapping his Trouble Man II album, Tip says he's thinking of a "theatrical" title for his next album.

Nas: Some people postpone albums because they're not ready, but Nas says he's taking his time on his next effort because he's just too excited to rush it.

Future: The Astronaut Kid hopes to follow his huge 2013 with an effort that will live up to singles like "Honest" and "Real and True."

Indie
Broken Bells: The Danger Mouse/James Mercer (The Shins) dynamic duo will drop their surprise sophomore album in February, with first single "Holding On For Life" promising some dark disco times.

Against Me!: The band's sixth album deals with its frontwoman's transition from Tom Gabel to Laura Jane.

Warpaint: The woozy L.A. band says to expect a more rocking sound on their second effort.

Young the Giant: Best known for big ballads, expect more classic rock jams from YTG this time around.

Dum Dum Girls: Inspired by classic goth-y literature, the Girls are prepping another set of exquisite bummer noise pop.

Pangea: Slow, haunting, Badillac, garage rock, what else can we say?

St. Vincent: Annie Clark promises a "party record you could play at a funeral." We're in!

The Men: We're not sure what this punk band's fifth album will sound like, but we suspect horns will be involved.

Black Lips: The flower power punks have hooked up with Black Key Patrick Carney and the Dap Kings musical director on their seventh studio effort.

Skaters: All hail rock 'n roll, as these Manhattan guitar rockers are primed to deliver their NYC-themed latest,Manhattan.

Rock
Foo Fighters: Ending a brief hiatus, the Foos are cooking up the follow to their made-in-the-garage masterpieceWasting Light.

U2: Years in the making, the Irish supergroup's latest features production from Danger Mouse and, allegedly, some dance-y beats.

Imagine Dragons: Once they're done basking in the glory of their smash Night Visions album, these guys plan to hit the studio again in search of more platinum visions.

Coldplay: After losing some fans with the experimental Mylo Xyloto, the lads appear to be back in A Rush of Blood to the Head-era rock.

Black Keys: The follow to El Caminois expected to have some handiwork from frequent collaborator Danger Mouse.

Beck: After a six-year break, Beck is back with Morning Phase, the spiritual sequel to his beautiful bummer, Sea Change.

Foster the People: Don't expect more "Pumped Up Kicks" from these guys, who promise a "polarizing" effort that will employ some unusual rhythms.

Fun.: How do you come back from a huge breakthrough album? We don't know, but we figure frontman and hit machine Nate Ruess has some ideas.

Gerard Way: This could be the year we get the first solo material from the former My Chemical Romance lead singer and creative fountainhead.

Tool: Eight years since their last one, these dark rockers are poised to serve up more of their patented gear-grinding anthems of doom.

Pop
Taylor Swift: What will her fifth sound like? She says expect a whole musical identity and some big-name collaborators.

Rihanna: Getting back on her album-a-year grind could have Rih Rih working with Nicky Romero and David Guetta again.

Demi Lovato: Her judging days over, Demi is 100 percent focused on making new music.

Ed Sheeran: Ed's leaning on his pal Taylor Swift to give him feedback on the songs for his next one.

Fifth Harmony: After a long wait, the group debut is finally ready, and tourmate Demi Lovato might make a cameo.

Little Mix: Fellow "X Factor" alums are prepping the dancey, more mature Salute for February.

Austin Mahone: In a word, the surging teen pop singer is planning a "crazy" debut with songs produced by RedOne and Max Martin.

Shakira: The "Voice" judge's first single features Rihanna, so that's as good a start as any.

A Great Big World: After coming out of nowhere, the "Voice" stars will drop their debut next week.

Lea Michele: Expect an emotional ride from the "Glee" star, starting with the Cory Monteith tribute, "If You Say So."

Naya Rivera: Another "Glee" star, Rivera will finally put out a full length three years after signing her major-label deal.

Lindsay Lohan: Out of the game for a while, the actress has been working with the Kills to add a rock edge to her pop sound.

Nick Jonas: Could Nick go all the way solo in 2014? If pics of him snogging his girlfriend while filming a music video are any indication, the magic 8 ball says "yes."

R&B
Chris Brown: A voice like fine china, but the bad-boy persona is bad news. Still, Breezy's fourth-quarter X Files mixtape is reason to hope for Xthis year.

Frank Ocean: Enigmatic Ocean made songs in the key of his life onChannel Orange, but vibes comes via the Beach Boys and the Beatles, not Stevie Wonder, this 'go-round.

Elle Varner: The "hug life" crusader's follow-up to 2012'sPerfectly Imperfect should earn her a deserved spot in the pop&b mainstream.

Jennifer Hudson: JHud has been racking up surprising rap cameos from J. Cole to Macklemore, a clue perhaps about the direction for her third studio album.

Jessie Ware: The U.K. singer helped usher in the nineties revival with Devotion; the rhythm-and-blues golden age is likely to figure on her sequel too.

Jhene Aiko: It should be nothing but smooth sailing for the "Bed Peace" crooner on the Def Jam follow-up to her sultry Sail Out EP.

Kelis: Ex-husband Nas spun their breakup into chart gold, but all we know so far is that her Dave Sitek-helmed Food promises to be raw, soulful.

Mack Wilds: Who knew quarter waters could inspire borough ballads? The "90210" heartthrob and Salaam Remi revived the '90s essence of the Rotten Apple on New York: A Love Story; what's next?

Mariah Carey: The title track from her upcoming The Art of Letting GoLP is the reason every girl ever sang into a hairbrush (just ask Ariana). And features from Nas, R. Kelly, The-Dream and Q-Tip guarantee more of the same.

Miguel: Is it even possible to follow up an instant-classic like "Adorn"? We can't wait to hear Mr. Pimentel try.

Pharrell Williams: After blessing countless hooks in 2013, Skateboard P gets understandably greedy for his bar-free solo effort.

Toni Braxton and Babyface: Check the veteran duo's vintage 1992 "Arsenio" performance if you need proof that Love, Marriage & Divorce, due in February, is two decades overdue.

Sampha: The South Londoner's vocals come to you as if at a far-off distance. His whispery wail on Drake's "Too Much" is just a taste.

Solange: Since the release of herTrue EP, Solo's moved from Brooklyn to the Bayou, where an infusion of blues could very well color her next album.

SZA: Rather than gunning for Beyonce's platinum throne on her TDE debut, SZA has made DIY divas like Bjork her prototype.

EDM
Afrojack : The Dutch DJ/producer is prepping his Island Def Jam debut and if lead single, "The Spark" is any indication, this will be 'Jack's year.

Skrillex: After a hectic year of non-stop touring and projects, we can't wait to see what the "Spring Breakers" scorer has in store for us.

Avicii: If he's smart, the current kind of dance music will hit fans again with another mind-melting mix of EDM and ... whatever, to capitalize on the smash "Wake Me Up" phenomenon.

Steve Aoki: Though he spent 2013 touring heavily, Aoki is sure to have some new music from his tour bus recording sessions for fans.

Dillon Francis: After years of singles and EPs, the time is finally right for the debut full-length from DJ Hanzel.

NERVO: After collaborating with everyone from Beyonce to Omarion and R3hab, could this be the year the Australian sister act release a full length?

Steve Angello: The former Swedish House Mafia member is prepping his forthcoming Wild Youth album.

Wizkid Finally Reacts To HEADIES Snub

Wizkid got just one nomination at the just concluded HEADIES and that has sparked a lot of controversies.
wizz_kid_naked
A lot of people felt Wizkid ruled the airways in 2013, especially with his international awards, and wonder why he got just one nomination in the HEADIES.

None of his 2013 songs (Jaiye jaiye, Caro, Back to the matter, Lagos to Soweto) got any nomination, and the singer himself was only nominated under the ‘Artiste of the year’ category.
His fans have been complaining, some presenters on Tv have also talked about it.
But Wizkid decided to break the silence yesterday when he tweeted that, his fans see and appreciate all the work and that’s enough award to last him a life time.
He also said, his New Year resolution is to stay happy.

2014: Dubai all set to break yet another world record

2014: Dubai all set to break yet another world record

Dubai fireworks
Dubai: Palm Jumeirah, the World Islands, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Festival city will put up a combined showed of fireworks tonight, celebrating a landmark year for the country that included winning the hosting rights for the World Expo 2020.
The staggering display of fireworks will include a world record attempt that will see 400,000 shots fired in the sky from 400 locations on the Palm island and the islands of The World.
It will just take 60 seconds for 200 pyrotechnicians in Dubai to break the world record for the largest fireworks display.

The show, designed by US-based “Fireworks by Grucci,” will begin with a “Flying Falcon” doing rounds of The World islands, leading the countdown for the New Year spectacle.
The display will include never seen before elements like a 225-metre wide and 130-metre high UAE flag, conjured through fireworks and special effects that will adorn the Dubai sky. The flag will be another world record attempt for the largest pyrotechnic flag ever.
The six-minute pyrotechnics, synchronised to breathtaking music, will culminate in the final salvo of fireworks that will conjure up a “Sunrise” scene, lighting up the skies for around 10 kilometres.
The show will be breaking the current Guinness World Record for the largest display of fireworks held by Kuwait, with 77,282 shots of fireworks spread across five kilometres and lasted for 64 minutes.
Though the Dubai show will last for only six minutes, but it will be spread across an area of 100 kilometres.
At least 450,000 explosive shells, connected to a network of more than 100 computers, will be used to put up the show.
Firework displays will also light up other landmarks of the city, including Madinat Jumeriah, Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Festival City.
Here are the best locations you can watch the fireworks from:
Burj Khalifa
Dubai Mall — If you can make it early, there is no better place to watch the fireworks from. The Burj Boulevard, Burj Park or the Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard are the good locations to watch the fireworks at the world’s tallest tower.
The pyrotechnics can also be enjoyed from Shaikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan road and Safa Park and Al Safa area.
Palm Jumeirah
Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands will be the best places to watch the world’s largest fireworks from. However, given that the area will be restricted to residents and ticket holders of the Sandance Music festival, the alternative locations would be Jumeirah Beach Residence, Umm Suqueim Beach and Jumeirah Beach.
Dubai Festival City
Dubai Creek, Al Garhoud Area and the Business Bay area would be ideal locations to enjoy the fireworks at the Dubai Festival City

Genevieve, D’banj in love again; already talking about marriage

Genevieve, D’banj in love again; already talking about marriage

dbanj and genevieve1Recent media reports have it that Nollywood screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji and Kokomaster D’banj and are back together in a love relationship.
Blogger Linda Ikeji is reporting that as you read this Genevieve is all comfy in the ‘Oliver Twist’ hit maker Lekki home and are talking marriage.
Read what Linder wrote about Kokomaster and Genevieve:
This is not rumour o…it’s fact. The Kokomaster, 33, and Nigerian screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji, 34, are back together two years after they parted ways and this is a LIB exclusive. Genny is currently staying at D’banj’s Lekki home, and I hear they are already talking marriage. Yes I said marriage. Don’t know if it will happen, but they are currently talking about it, so in case it happens, remember y’all read it here first. *Wink*.
The loved up couple dated on and off from 2009 to 2011 before Genevieve broke off the relationship because of D’banj’s commitment issues. Hope it works out for them this time around!
In 2011, after months of denial from both sides, it was eventually determined that D’banj and Genevieve had been in a secret relationship since 2009. It was wonderful news and just as everyone celebrated it, Genny dropped the bomb, she called off the relationship in March, leaving the kokomaster alongside millions of their fans heart-broken.
D’banj had gone on to repeatedly make it clear in published interviews that he is still bonkers for Genevieve. He never really got over her.
This is where skeptics come in. Genny had called off the relationship following alleged commitment issues from D’banj… He had a career spiraling to the skies and needed to be away a lot, hence the alleged reluctance to settle down, ‘what makes it different this time?’ they ask.
But D’banj and Genevieve have the backing of fans. If this story is true, everyone hopes (prays) things work out for them this time.
They are not the only ones webbed in love tales. with 2014 less than 24 hours away, another celebrity has given hint on social media that marriage would definitely happen in the new year.

Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, elder brother to the P Square twins.

Lmao of the Day: Open Letter to Headies 2013 Oranizers Part 1 (Must Read)

Lmao of the Day: Open Letter to Headies 2013 Oranizers Part 1 (Must Read)

Dear headies 2013 organizers,

Let me start by saying i am not just disappointed in you but u have just proved to us that Nigeria is not getting better any time soon . you have been manipulated by a greedy and hopeless telecommunications company ( mtn) because they sponsored your event and you forgot the ultimate rule that awards are meant to be impartial and should be decided by the general public especially when u told us to vote . you distributed the awards among 4 mtn ambassadors ( iyanya , davido , praiz , and kcee ) and just 1 glo ambassador won ( waje ) . Is that not politics or is it coincidence? Now let us analyze. The headies 2013 was a flop , your stage was shaped like a models runway , the choreographers just lacked ideas and didn ’ t interpret the music , i have seen a better performance from Nigeria’ s got talent. What was the gulder ultimate search theme song that was being played throughout the event ?
Continue..
Who on earth uses the mavin slaves - dr sit and tiwa gabbage as presenters of an event ? Oh I forgot , the awards lacked credibility and substance. Why did majority of the winners come from backstage , instead of coming from the crowd like it should be ? I watched nickelodeon kids choice awards this year and it is far better than the over hyped headies which was not properly planned and hurriedly done # shame Can you explain to us how olamide won best rap album? olamide has commercialized rap , we cannot tell if he is a rapper or a singer. As far as i am concerned , he is just an entertainer like dbanj . so where does vector, phyno, reminisce, ice prince and illbliss who represent real hip hop/ rap stand? Don’ t forget that there is a big difference between commercial rap and real rap . all he sings about is remind us that he is from the street but to be sincere terry g is more
street than olamide and terry is not even a rapper #justsaying How can harry song win most mtn most downloaded caller tune song for rip Mandela? when did Mandela die and do u want to compare that dead song with other club bangers in the same category ? Simple , it is because harrysong is a label mate to your mtn ambassador (kcee ) . In my opinion jawon , waje ,2 face , Clarence peters , blackmagic and davido deserved there awards. how can wizkid not win any award ? Someone who has been the most consistent and sought after this year . i am sure wizkid declined an interview from you that ’ s why he didn ' t win. in fact wizzy should be the artiste of the year . Why did dbanj, burnaboy , wandecoal , psquare, flavour not win
anything? oh i know why, it is because they are Glo ambassadors.
Now explain to me why Sean tizzle won the next rated award and he was in the same category as burna boy
who is obviously more relevant and talented . We all know Sean tizzle has the same old boring style and
we can always predict his next song . Phyno too deserved the next rated award and how on planet earth did d- tunes win producer of the year ? Someone who recycled 1 beat 5 times ( kukere, your waist , mama
eh, lenu by spicy , kilogbe) . so where does ace producer del b that produced the national anthem limpopo stand ? You are all insane!!!!!!
Infact, headies, mtn and Pdp should merge and start a new political party for the upcoming election in 2015  it should be named mhdp ( mtn headies democratic party) . we all know exactly what happened , mtn agreed to sponsor your event and they gave you the list of who should win. our votes did not count ; do
you think we are blind and foolish like yourself? Instead of your greedy mtn sponsors to improve their network, reduce tariffs and contribute to the growth of the nation, they will be sending me sms on how they gave free ipad and mp3 to those who sent a sms to a code . They spend all their time looking for how to extort customers and scam us with their ridiculous offers ( free airplane and a trip to the moon )
i am sorry to say sir but if u continues this way your company will fold up and collapse because you are not an epitome of integrity . i am speaking on behalf of majority of Nigerians who know the truth and are not afraid to say it . those who feel this letter is nonsense should not forget to curse , insult and threaten me on @ baddestdjtimmy. after my last 2 open letters, i have been insulted , chewed up, spit out, as being very jobless, hopeless and a broke laptop dj. you guys don’ t know how much i love the insults so it means i am doing a good job and it makes me stronger . So in conclusion , if u have the opportunity to host another award show , learn from your mistakes and let our votes count this time . Let those who deserve it win, is that too much to ask?

Well, we cant help but post this....drop your comment freely.
