Thousands sign petition to have Justin Bieber deported from America

An online petition seeking the deportation of Justin Bieber has exceeded the 100,000 signatures required for a White House response.

The Obama administration must now react to the campaign aimed at kicking the teenage singer out of the country and revoking his green card.
The call to send Bieber back to his native Canada came after his recent arrest in Miami Beach for allegedly taking part in an illegal street race between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari.
“We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture,” reads the petition posted on the White House website.
“We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked.”
Another petition on the website, titled, “Consider to not Deport Justin Bieber”, had less than 1,000 signatures as of Wednesday.
Bieber faces a Valentine’s Day court date to hear charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired licence.
Police say the 19-year-old singer admitted to smoking marijuana, drinking and taking a prescription medication.
Since posting bail and leaving Miami, Bieber has been pictured in Panama with his entourage.
White House petitions must generate 100,000 signatures within 30 days of being posted to get an official response.
Previously, the Obama administration has been required to respond to topics ranging from healthcare to late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
The administration also was forced to weigh in on a failed bid to deport British journalist and CNN host Piers Morgan for his “hostile attack against” US gun rights.
Last year, the White House famously rejected calls to build a Star Wars-style “Death Star”, saying the administration did not support “blowing up planets”.

“Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?” the White House response said.

OMG: Rihanna Parties With Jay Z Bráless (See PHOTOS)

The Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch went down in LA on Saturday, January 25, 2015 attracting some of Hollywood's favourites.
Jay Z's annual brunch was just one of several events held on the eve of the Grammys.

Rihanna turned up for the event in a sexy top (without a brá) and skirt from Altuzzara spring 2014 collection.
Other guests included Will Smith's children Jaden and Willow Smith, Ne-Yo, as well as rappers T.I., J. Cole and Wale.

APC and its Concept of Heroes and Villains By Humphrey Ifeanyi

TWICE  in recent times, I have heard people say: “If Abacha were alive today, he would have been a hero.”Not long ago, Gen. Sani Abacha was  mentioned in respect of what would have been his response to the shenanigans from pro-homosexual countries of Europe, United States and Canada who have been threatening to withdraw their development support for Nigeria because President Good luck Jonathan signed into law the same sex prohibition Act 2013.

It was a shock to hear such declaration in a place like Lagos, which was the hot bed to the anti Abacha campaign.
Nigerians would hardly forget that it was Abacha who opened the door to China and other Asian countries at the time the West were threatening to impose all manner of sanctions on Nigeria in the late 1990s. But on three occasions, the US congress failed to agree on what to do to Nigeria.
The focus of this article is really our concept of villains and heroes in Nigeria and we are using the likes of General Muhammadu Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Sen. Sani Abacha and Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, incidental all of them  military heads of state and their antecedents in the political arena as  linked up in this analysis.
Femi Aribisala did a brilliant expose on on ‘Why General Muhammadu Buhari cannot be president” (see Vanguard Newspaper, January 21, 2014, page 18). If this article had appeared during the 2011, general elections, Femi Aribisala would be labelled a serial hate monger.
But needless to say that Mr. Aribisala captured the bleak side of Gen. Buhari’s government 1983-1985. It also recollected the mindset of Gen. Buhari and his attitude to inter-ethnic and inter religious  relations, his disposition to issues bordering on civil liberties, freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of the press and anti corruption as exemplified in the counter- trade experience.
Another article germane for this analysis was written by Simeon Kolawole, entitled “The Canonisation of Obasanjo, (Thisday on Sunday, December 30,2013, Pg. 104).
The writer declared “six years ago, I would have sworn that nobody would ever take Obasanjo seriously again, but this is Nigeria where our memory is so shallow, misfits get easily rehabilitated”.
Kolawole chronicled the activities of General Olusegun Obasanjo and his relation with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was the president and to  maximally frustrate Bola Tinubu’s administration in Lagos State. Before then, Gen. Obasanjo was in office as a military head of state from 1976 to 1979.
This was the period he took Nigerians on a charade that was organised by Chief Michael Ani’s defunct FEDECO.

It was an election that General Obasanjo invited five eminent Nigerians namely: Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Mallam Aminu Kano, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri who were contesting the election to tell them that  the best candidate might not be the winner of the election.
It was the electoral quagmire in Kano state and definition of two-third of 19 states in the Constitution that exposed what Gen. Obasanjo meant by that statement. Both Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his supports, predominantly from the South West learnt the meaning of  and what it felt to be betrayed and cheated. Gen. Obasanjo went ahead to expunge the provision for Electoral college vote in the constitution.
The sins of Gen. Obasanjo caught up with him in 1990 when he presented himself as a candidate for the office of the Secretary General. The full weight of the anger of the Yoruba nation was unleashed on him as his kinsmen led the campaign to stop him from attaining that office.
Nobel Prize winner Prof. Wole Soyinka led a campaign team to New York to campaign against Gen. Obasanjo. In the end he lost.
According to Prof Ibrahim Gambari, who was Nigeria’s permanent representative to the UN then, the British and the Americans told Nigeria that when they talk of electing a Secretary General, the emphasis was on the secretary and not on the GENERAL.
Things were the same again in 1999 when General Obasanjo was released from jail in Bama, Borno State and presented to Nigerians as the Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, the likes of Chief Ifeanyi Ekwueme who founded the party were shoved aside for Chief Obasanjo, who had survived Gen. Abacha’s incarceration. General Obasanjo was roundly defeated in his South West region, including his own ward. His performance in office was well captured in the Kolawole’s piece earlier cited.
What is interesting to this writer is that
all these leaders who were once seen and treated as villains in the South West, have become heroes either because they have become political allies of the All Progressive Congress or because they have sympathy, or because they have joined the army of those bashing President Good luck Jonathan. Those members of the same PDP who were described as thieves, bad persons, election riggers among other crimes have become as clean and white as snow because they defected to ACP.

There must be some thing chamelonic in the character of politics that is played in South West. Motivating factor is greed rather than morality and the selling point is blackmail.
Those who fallout of the dictatorial mode of reasoning are ostracised for ever as the likes of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Gen. Oladipo Diya, Chief Bisi Onabule, have come to know. Chief Onabule served as the Chief Press Secretary to General Babagida, who provoked the June 12, 1993 crisis.

If Gen. Babangida joins the APC and the battle against President Jonathan, his sins will be forgiven. Why not, he is not Judas Iscariot after all.
The essence of rational thinking as propounded by the likes of John Mills is that human beings are capable of rational thoughts and actions and they do not require draconian laws and institutions to herd them in line.

But we seem to be in a situation where some people reason for us based on their interest and interpretation of events and situations.
We are manipulated according to their whims and desires, the cabals tell their followers what is the truth, what is acceptable and what is not. Perhaps if Gen. Abacha were to be alive today; and declares for APC, then he too would become “a new creature, all things will pass away,” that is really a good concept but the snag is that such repentance is not from the heart, the leopards have retained the spots in their skin.

Sometimes I wonder what is the difference between the herd mentality that we see among followers and supports of APC and what obtains in places like North Korea or even the defunct Soviet Union? In these places, followership is by unquestioning obedience. Respect and obedience are commanded, not earned.
People join the mob so as to be seen to be politically correct. There is  no  room to listen to  the other side of the argument. It is either black or white. In this process, the dividing line between honesty and hypocrisy is  blurred , but those who choose to be led by the nose are free just a it will be proper to liberate the political space to accommodate free thinkers and conscientious objectors.

Kim Kardashian to wed Kanye West in 'televised multi-million dollar wedding this June on the outskirts of Paris'

Kim Kardashian has always dreamed of being a June bride and now it appears she's getting her wish.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is said to be planning a wedding extravaganza in France that will be televised for the show - and won't cost her a cent.
Kim, 33, persuaded her camera-shy fiance Kanye West to let the cameras in on their special day because E! will pay for most of the expenses, RadarOnline is reporting.

'Kim has always wanted to be a June bride and she is finally going to get her wish,' a source told Radar.
'Kim and Kanye have narrowed down the wedding location, which is being kept a secret at this point. It will be on the outskirts of Paris.'
'We will be getting married this summer, hopefully, in Paris,' Kim told Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday. 'We love it there.'

The mother-of-one is being both romantic and practical, as E! staffers will also take of pesky issues such as security such as removing cell phones from guests and other logistics.
This isn't the first time the reality star has benefitted financially from a wedding - her August 2011 nuptials to second husband Kris Humphries became a four-hour, two-part special on E!, for which the couple reportedly were paid $15 million.
'Even though Kim’s marriage to Kris was a disaster, she was very happy with how the wedding and reception turned out,' the source said.

'Both Kim and Kanye have very high expectations for their wedding. It will be an over-the-top affair and there will be pre-wedding festivities leading up to the big day for their guests. It’ll be like a festival.'
Kim has yearned to have the 'festival' take place at the Palace Of Versailles, a symbol of absolute monarchy in France, not to mention the former home of Marie Antoinette.
Earlier this month, Kim and the 36-year-old rapper visited the palace and strolled the extensive grounds.

Kim posted a snapshot of the pair in silhoutte in front of the extraordinary building on January 19, writing: 'Versailles after dark.'
'Kim and Kanye really wanted to get married at Versailles and were both hoping to persuade officials during their visit there… ultimately it backfired. It was still a firm no.
'The couple is looking for something grand, but something that can offer privacy and security.'
So it seems that even money can't buy everything a Kardashian everything she wants.
Kanye proposed to Kim in a grandiose fashion at the AT&T Park in San Francisco with a 15 carat diamond ring.
Kim gave birth to the couple's daughter North on June 15, which was featured on the family's reality show as well.

Kanye West skips Grammys to hang out in Malibu with Kardashians after previously ranting about his paltry two nominations

His opus Yeezus was snubbed when nominations for Grammys Record of the Year were announced, garnering just two nods.
While Kanye West was up for Best Rap Song for New Slaves and Best Rap Album for Yeezus, the 36-year-old rapper decided to skip the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday in favour of a day at the Kardashian/Jenner family Malibu beach house.
As his peers, including close pal Jay Z were busy performing and picking up awards at music's biggest night, Kanye soaked up the sunshine on the balcony of his reality TV star fiancée Kim Kardashian's family getaway.
Isn't there somewhere else you should be? Kanye West skipped the Grammy Awards in LA after previously revealing his fury that he was only nominated for two awards
Isn't there somewhere else you should be? Kanye West skipped the Grammy Awards in LA after previously revealing his fury that he was only nominated for two awards
Dressed down in a white top and jeans, Kanye leaned against the railings as he took a call on his mobile phone.

It was a much more relaxed Kanye than the angry performer who raged against the snub while on the Phoenix leg of his tour last December.
He said: 'They try to trivialise my words and try to make it seem like my importance as a musician is less important than what it is ... Now I'm 36-years-old and I have 21 Grammys. That's the most Grammys of any 36-year-old. Out of all those 21 Grammys, I've never won a Grammy against a white artist.'
Snubbed: While Kanye was up for Best Rap Song for New Slaves and Best Rap Album for Yeezus, he felt his album should have garnered more nominations

[This is untrue as he has picked up awards after going head to head with the likes of Eminem and the Beastie Boys].
'So, when the Grammy nominations come out and Yeezus is the Top one or two albums on every single list, but only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say? Do they think that I wouldn’t notice? Do they think that some way that I don’t have the power to completely diminish all of their credibility at this moment…People come to me and they congratulate me on those two nominations. F**k those nominations.’
Jealous? Kanye's close pal joked his Grammy would make a great 'sippy cup' for his two-year-old Blue, but Kanye's daughter North went empty handed after her dad failed to win

Even if Kanye had forgiven the nominations committee for his perceived snub, perhaps he had a feeling he wasn’t going to win either of the awards he was nominated for, with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis beating him to the gongs in both categories.
However, proud papa Kanye, who welcomed baby daughter North with Kim last summer, will no doubt be disappointed that he didn’t win a new toy for North.
After all, his frequent collaborator Jay Z picked up two and joked his award for Best/Rap Sung Collaboration for Holy Grail featuring Justin Timberlake was the perfect new 'sippy cup' for his two-year-old Blue Ivy.

He said: 'I want to thank God, I mean, a little bit for this award, but also all the universe for conspiring and for putting that beautiful light of a young lady in my life.'
Holding his golden gramophone statue aloft, he added: 'I want to tell Blue, Look, Daddy got a gold sippy cup for you!'

Birds of pray: Doves released in the Vatican as a gesture of peace are immediately ATTACKED by vicious seagull and crow

  • Tens of thousands of people were watching in St Peter's Square
  • Seagull and a large black crow swept down on the doves today
  • They had been set free from open window of the Apostolic Palace
To millions of Christians, they are a symbol of peace.
But to a pair of larger birds, the two doves released in the Vatican yesterday were nothing more than a chance for a bit of Sunday morning sport.
No sooner had the birds been set free in St Peter’s Square – as a symbolic gesture of peace for Ukraine – than they were set upon by a seagull and a crow.

The two larger birds swooped on the defenceless doves during the Pope’s weekly Sunday Angelus prayer in front of tens of thousands of worshippers gathered in the Vatican.
After saying a prayer for Ukraine, where at least three people were killed during the latest clashes that have seen Kiev in flames, the Pontiff helped schoolchildren release the doves from the window of the Apostolic Palace as a peace gesture.

But they were immediately attacked. The seagull pinned one of the doves against the wall of the palace and pecked at its tail, but was left with a mouthful of feathers as its victim made an escape.
The crow caught the smaller bird unawares, as it rested on a windowsill, before pecking at it repeatedly.  Again, the victim managed to get away.
Eventually both doves flew off, seemingly uninjured, to the relief of tens of thousands of onlookers.
The release of the birds concludes the Vatican’s annual  Caravan of Peace event.
Last year one of the doves was set upon by a gull, while in 2012 they simply flew back into the Apostolic Apartments.
While speaking at the window beforehand, Francis had appealed for peace in Ukraine, after at least three people were killed during the latest clashes in the two-month crisis.

Police and demonstrators in Kiev fought again as protests against President Viktor Yanukovich's abrupt turn away from the European Union towards Russia, Ukraine's former Soviet overlord.
‘I am close to Ukraine in prayer, in particular to those who have lost their lives in recent days and to their families,’ Francis said in his weekly Angelus in St Peter's Square.
‘I hope that a constructive dialogue between the institutions and civil society can take place, that any resort to violence is avoided and that the spirit of peace and a search for the common good is in the hearts of all.’
The mass rallies against President Yanukovich's rule erupted last November after he pulled out of a free trade deal with the European Union in favour of closer economic ties with Russia.
They have since spiralled into protests against misrule and corruption among Ukraine's leaders and officials.
There have been violent clashes with police in Kiev city centre, resulting in the death of three protesters last week, two from gunshot wounds.
