Chris Brown's bodyguard suing Drake and SoHo's W.i.P. over last year's Club Fight

Chris Brown's beefy bodyguard is suing Drake and the SoHo nightclub where the hip-hop stars brawled last June, and used filing as an opportunity to take a swipe at the Canadian rapper.
Hired muscle Patrick Strickland snidely refers to Drake as "a popular and successful, albeit critically derided, entertainer," in his lawsuit filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Strickland, 43, who hails from Queens Village, claims the hot spot, W.i.P., is responsible for the ugly head cut he suffered during the melee because it sat Brown's entourage and Drake's crew near each other, even though staffers knew the celebrities were beefing over sultry R&B songstress Rihanna.
The seating arrangement created "a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps," the suit for an unspecified amount of damages states.
Moreover, the club over-served Drake and his posse, and had an employee hand Brown a note from Drake that read: "I'm f--king the love of your life," according to the Strickland suit.
The note allegedly led to a "verbal altercation" and that caused a "massive bar brawl that involved bottle throwing, possible gunshots and a general state of riot and disorder," the suit charges.
Strickland was hit in the head and required stitches, reports said at the time. The suit says he endured "severe and disfiguring injuries to his face, head and eyes."
The suit, which also names W.i.P.'s sister club, Greenhouse, and various parties associated with the party spots, is the latest in a string of legal actions stemming from the sensational brouhaha.

Students Goes Mad, Stabs 14 People in School

The 20-year-old Lone Star College student accused of stabbing 14 of his classmates told investigators he’d been planning the spree for some time and had fantasies of stabbing people to death since his elementary school days.
So vicious were the random, building-to-building attacks carried out by Dylan Andrew Quick that his thrusts left pieces of a razor-type knife in at least one of his 14 victims, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night. Two students were in critical condition and four are in fair condition. Four were flown by helicopter from the sprawling Cy-Fair campus outside Houston to hospitals. Some were treated on scene.
The violence was reported around 11:13 a.m. local time at the school’s Cy-Fair campus in north Harris County.
Quick is charged with three counts of aggravated assault. Police say pieces of the blade were found inside at least one victim and around the area where he slashed his classmates. The knife’s handle was found in the backpack the Quick wore while he allegedly terrorized his community college classmates. Quick was dressed in all black, a cap pulled over his bushy red hair.
The first emergency call described "a male on the loose stabbing people," Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said.
Student Steven Maida tells the Daily News he was walking to his vehicle on campus when chaos broke out. People were running, he said, including one who said, "My friend got stabbed in the face." Maida and a group took off after the suspect. The group eventually caught up to the suspect, pulling him down by his backpack and restraining him, Maida said. The suspect's hearing aids fell out during the struggle, Maida said.
"He said, 'I give up,'" Maida said. "I asked him, 'Why'd you do this to these girls, why?' but he just stared up at me."
Another witness told Maida the suspect was "Dylan" and that "he's a nice kid." She didn't tell Maida the suspect's last name.
"Just hearing that girls were being stabbed in the face made me want to help," Maida told the Daily News on Tuesday evening.
Witnesses told CBS affiliate KHOU 11 that the incident erupted in a lab at the campus’ Health Sciences building.
Student Margo Shimfarr-Evans said she had just left the building when she learned a classmate had been stabbed.
"It happened in the hallway, we have a lab and lecture, and down the hallway it’s all lab classes and a classmate in the lab class got stabbed," she said.
Police said at a news conference it was a random "building-to-building attack." How many buildings or classrooms were involved is unclear. An officer said a student tackled the suspect, who was then detained by police.
Student Michael Chalfan told The Associated Press he was walking to class when he saw a group of police officers running after Quick. He said one of the officers used a stun gun to help subdue the man, whom Chalfan said he recognized from a drama class last year.
Chalfan described Quick as "eccentric," saying he often wore gloves and was known to carry stuffed animals. He said although the man was teased by fellow students, he remained friendly.
"I'm surprised because he didn't look like he was hateful to the world," Chalfan said.
The Chronicle reported that Quick, who was once homeschooled, was born deaf and had a cochlear implant at age 7.
The Chronicle reports Quick told a man in the Cy-Fair jail that he wanted to go on a "killing spree" but that the knife's blade broke. He told investigators he planned the attack for "some time" and had fantasies of such a spree since elementary school.
Several calls by the Daily News to Quick's mother, Tiffany Quick, went unanswered Tuesday.
An earlier alert put out by the school on Facebook said there were possibly two armed suspects, with one still at large.
After the attacks, school officials closed the campus for the day, but it will reopen Wednesday. About 7,000 people are on the Cy-Fair campus on any given day, police said.
A Lone Star College campus in north Harris was the scene of violence in January when gunfire wounded three people.

Pregnant woman kidnapped and tortured as she immigrated to U.S.

For three days, a pregnant Salvadoran woman was held captive in a mobile home in the Texas borderland, her dreams of reuniting with her family on Long Island replaced by fear of violent death.
“They were threatening me with a gun, pointed right to my stomach,” Zoila Figueroa said of the two men who abducted her after she sneaked across the U.S.-Mexico border near Hidalgo, Tex., in March 2012.
“They threatened me. They said if my husband didn’t pay ransom they were going to take out my baby. They were going to take out the baby alive and then they were going to kill me.”
Her captors freed her unharmed after her husband, who lives in Roosevelt, L.I., paid $3,990 in ransom. She later delivered a healthy baby boy, her third child.
Now, a year later, Figueroa, 28, is plagued by mental scars from the ordeal, and faces an uncertain future in America. Her lawyer believes she qualifies for a “U” visa, a special type that gives undocumented immigrants who are crime victims a chance to become legal residents if they cooperate with police. They must also prove they suffered mental or physical abuse.
U visas were created in 2000 to make immigrants less fearful of reporting crimes, and to assist law enforcement in solving crimes involving immigrant victims.
But while Figueroa’s experience seems to make her a textbook example of a victim who would qualify for a “U” visa, her case has come to symbolize the arbitrary nature of the program, which requires police or prosecutors to sign a certificate proving that the victim has cooperated with investigators.
She has cooperated extensively with authorities in Hidalgo County, Tex., but they have refused to approve the needed paperwork — leaving her in danger of being deported. She must check in with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency on Thursday .
“This is a perfect example of how someone is not being protected even though they need it,” said her lawyer, Bryan Johnson.
Law enforcement agencies are not required to participate in the program. Experts say that getting one of the 10,000 U visas granted each year depends heavily on attitudes in the city or police department where the crime happened.
Figueroa had lived illegally in the U.S. for years before she returned to her native country with her son, who was born in the U.S. and is therefore an American citizen. He is severely autistic, and she thought spending time in El Salvador with family would help him. But crime in the Central American country worried her, so she put her son on a plane back to New York, and paid two “coyotes” $1,500 to guide her across the Rio Grande and into Texas.
Once at the border, the smugglers drove her part of the way across a bridge linking Reynosa, Mexico, and Hidalgo. They stopped near a gate on the bridge, and forced her to climb down a rope leading to a sugar cane field underneath the span. She shimmied down at least 20 feet of the rope, but lost her grip and fell to the ground, injuring her back. The two men blindfolded and gagged her, took her to the trailer, tied her up and threatened her life.
After Figueroa’s husband paid for her freedom, she contacted the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. She provided investigators with the names and descriptions of her captors, whom she overhead calling each other “El Jefe” and “Juan,” Johnson said. She tried to pick the men out of a photo lineup.
“They even showed me a cell phone photo of the place, of the trailer, and I said, ‘Yes, that’s the place,’” Figueroa said.
Her husband went with sheriff’s officers in an effort to find the mobile home. Yet Hidalgo County eventually closed the case, unsolved.
An officer told Johnson they weren’t the primary investigative agency handling the crime. The lawyer countered that they need not be the main agency in order to document her cooperation, Johnson said. Then an officer questioned whether Figueroa was a victim at all, Johnson said. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office did not return a call seeking comment.
Following her ordeal, Figueroa was diagnosed by a psychiatrist as suffering from posttraumatic-stress disorder, panic disorder and agoraphobia, a fear of open or public spaces.
“Since I’ve been back from there, I haven’t done anything but cry. I shut myself up inside and am depressed,” she said .
“I feel like I’m being harassed, that they are insulting me all the time. I feel really, really bad.”

Hidden skeletons in house of ousted C.Africa leader

Looters after gold or jewels in the abandoned home of deposed Central African Republic president Francois Bozize came instead across a gruesome discovery -- two human skeletons hidden beneath the garage floor.
At the house in Sassara, on the outskirts of the capital Bangui, Colonel Ali Garba -- one of the Seleka rebels whose coalition toppled Bozize from power last month -- gives a tour.
"The Monday (after the assault) I returned to pick up two vehicles... The house had been looted," he says.
"The people were probably hoping to find diamonds or gold stashed away. They lifted up two tiles in the garage and discovered the two skeletons."
He indicates the spot where the bodies were found, at the back of the garage, stowed in two-metre deep recesses underneath square tiles. All that now remains in the space is a scrap of coloured fabric.
"I saw them. They were bones with no flesh. The people had been dead for a while, at least several months, maybe more," he says.
According to Garba, the house had already been pillaged by the time the rebels took Bangui in a swift assault on March 24.
As he scoured the completely ransacked house, Garba says he also found the dead body of a presidential guard, apparently killed during clashes between Bozize's supporters and rebels.
"The Red Cross collected the body of the guard and the skeletons," Garba says, a claim backed up by near neighbours.
The Red Cross could not however be contacted to find out where the skeletons were taken.
A government source who did not want to give his name said authorities regretted their removal and were keen to find and identify the bodies.
Who the two dead were and how they met their fate at the property -- one of several owned by Bozize -- remains a mystery.
Some wonder if they were opponents to Bozize's regime, killed and hidden under the floor in the hope they would never been unearthed.
"Perhaps it was a ritual," suggests one of the rebels.
Ritual killings are a known phenomenon in Central Africa, designed to empower or bring good fortune to whoever orders the murder. Bones belonging to those killed are sometimes also trafficked for use in witchcraft.
It was Monique Bozize, wife of the ex-president, who supposedly lived in the house.
Now it lies unoccupied and almost completely bare, all the furniture having been snatched, save one fitness machine. Even the toilets have been pulled out.
Covering the floor are discarded documents, rubbish and photos, some of which feature Francois Bozize, others depicting traditional ceremonies or boxing tournaments.
At the back of the house, an electric generator has been smashed into pieces, while more papers litter the garden.
Bozize is there outside -- or rather an effigy of him, with his face painted onto a "body" made up of his real clothes.
One rebel pulls on his tie as if to strangle the former leader, who ruled Central African Republic for a decade but who fled to Cameroon as the rebels advanced and is now expected to seek asylum in Benin.

Agbani Darego Under Attack For Exposing Brèasts At Sister's Wedding (LOOK)

Former Miss World, Agbani Darego has come under attack for exposing one of her 'oranges' at the wedding of her younger sister held recently in Nigeria.

Agbani was at the wedding event of her sister, Nengi, who married one Chubike Asuzu, where she wore a blue gown which showed almost one part of her 'orange'. The event was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on April 6, 2013.

Already, her 'wardrobe malfunction' has been greeted with harsh comments. Some of her fans have lambasted her for 'disgracing' her younger sister by attending the event wearing a dress that exposes her 'supposed covered and priced asset'.

While some tagged her as a 'cheap attention seeker', others described her 'orange' exposure as 'uncalled for' especially at a wedding ceremony of her younger sister.

Agbani would be 31 later in 2013.

Don't Let Another Man Steal Your Woman -- Follow These Tips Today

A lot of men lose their women to other men for one reason or the other. The other man might not be better than you, but he’s definitely smarter. Follow these tips to make sure that no other man ever gets the chance to claim your woman as his:

1, Make her Laugh:  Women love a man with a sense of humour. Do your best to make your woman laugh as often as you can. Try to be the reason why there’s a smile on her face. If you allow another man to constantly make your woman happy, then it means she has found your replacement.
2, Give her Gifts: There are a few things that show your love to a woman more than the gifts you give. They don’t have to be expensive. Just make sure they’re thoughtful. A woman wants to know that she’s constantly on your mind and your gifts will assure her of that.

3, Take her out: Make time for your woman. Take her to the beach or to the cinemas. A woman doesn’t need to be taken to Paris before she knows that you love her. All she wants is for you to spend time with her outdoors and show her off to other people. It increases her sense of security and assures her that she’s not just your plaything.
4, Be affectionate: Every woman loves a romantic man. Let her know as often as you can how much you love her. Write her poems, sing to her when you’re alone, buy her sentimental cards, write her short love notes and slip them into her purse to surprise her. A woman who feels loved seldom ever cheats or leaves.
5, Respect her: Don’t be rude to your woman, don’t try to dominate her. Don’t intimidate her or make fun of her. Treat her like a lady. Never ever lay your hands on a woman. Encourage her to become a better person as you both grow together. If you want a woman to respect you, then you must respect her first.
Remember that if you don’t take care of your woman, she’ll find somebody who will.

IRONIC! The Man I Preached Was The Antichrist Ended Up Delivering Me

Pastor Gabriel Ikpenwa was an avid advocate against controversial Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua, vehemently testifying that he was the antichrist, offering public prayers against him in crusade grounds and fervently discouraging anyone who planned to visit his church. However, in an ironic twist of fate, the man he had campaigned against and slandered religiously ended up being the one used by God to set his family free.
“I have actually preached a lot of messages against Prophet T.B. Joshua, as the antichrist of our generation,” Pastor Gabriel remorsefully told the congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria during a Sunday service broadcast on the church's television station, Emmanuel TV.
Ikpenwa, who was the President of Deeper Life Campus Fellowship in his university days as well as the President of Nigerian Corpers Christian Fellowship (NCCF), said that when the major Christian bodies within Nigeria, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) had publicly denounced The SCOAN and its leader, he adopted the same stance without questioning. “I took it upon myself as a leader of the youth to make sure that none of them would have anything to do with Prophet T.B. Joshua,” he stated.
He recounted organizing huge crusades for young people as well as being a regular guest speaker at mammoth Christian Union events. “You can imagine when a crowd has gathered and you handle such a message, psyching up the youths against T.B. Joshua as the antichrist. You can imagine the type of prayer that would happen in the crowd. We started casting and binding him.”
After leaving Deeper Life, Ikpenwa joined Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG) as an Assistant Pastor while pursuing his medical career and managing his increasingly influential microfinance bank. Soon joining the ranks of young Nigerian millionaires, Ikpenwa decided to look for a wife to stand at his side in ministry. Meeting a beautiful young lady who was working as a model, the fiery pastor preached repentance to her. Moving closer to her, he did not know the deep spiritual entanglements he was about to engulf himself in.
As the pair courted, Ikpenwa had a strange encounter with two snakes who attempted to attack him in his house. As a date for marriage was set, he one day awoke to find a strange man in his house, who warned him to 'leave that girl alone'. Shocked at the man's entrance to his locked house, Pastor Gabriel attempted to hit him. His hand passed through the man as if he was boxing thin air and he mysteriously disappeared before his eyes.
The day of his marriage seemed to spell the beginning of his downfall. “I saw myself going down to a zero level after we married,” Ikpenwa stated, explaining that employees in his bank stole millions which led to its premature end. Ministry-wise, Ikpenwa admitted that he became 'an administrative pastor', confessing that he backslid in his faith and became someone merely “practicing religion, teaching people the Bible without the power.”
In the search for the deliverance of his wife who was regularly plagued with spiritual attacks, Ikpenwa remembered the man he had fought so hard against in the past. Despite banning Emmanuel TV in his house, an instruction that had been passed onto him by his superiors at CAN and PFN, Ikpenwa secretly began watching it. “I started matching the activities I saw with the Scriptures,” he revealed, deciding to go on an investigative mission to The SCOAN incognito to assess for himself.
“I wore jeans and put a face cap on backwards just to disguise myself because many people know me as a minister. I went to sit right at the extreme back to spy what was going on, not to participate in anything.” After the service, Ikpenwa returned to his home and told his wife that he had deceived multitudes about Joshua, acknowledging that he was truly a man of God. Upon this admission, the couple resolved to go to The SCOAN together.
As one of Joshua's ministers, known as the 'Wise Men' passed by Mrs Ikpenwa, she started to react violently under the influence of a strange force. “That was how the drama started,” the preacher recalled. A demon within her began manifesting and subsequently confessed the atrocities it had caused in her life, including the downfall of her husband's business, stating that it was her spiritual husband and Pastor Gabriel had 'snatched' her from him. At long last, she was 'delivered'.
Pastor Ikpenwa pleaded with the multitudes he had deceived to forgive him, stating that he had turned many who would have come to The SCOAN for solution against it. “The place I said nobody should go to is the place where I finally received my deliverance,” he concluded.
Advising pastors, Ikpenwa stated, “Many of us men of God act by what the news tells us because the power and spiritual insight is not there. I told people to excommunicate Prophet T.B. Joshua because I believed that my leaders had done some findings about him and they told us not to have anything to do with him. I plead with other men of God to find out the truth before going ahead to form judgments”.
Ikpenwa's wife testified that the strange dreams of being pursued by snakes and seeing a man sleeping with her had ended following the prayer and she enjoyed sleep for the first time in her life thereafter. She advised congregants to identify their problems, stating that such would pave the way for solution to come.
In his comments, Joshua stated that the persecution he passed through was actually a catalyst for his ministerial success. “I know the value of my trials… It's a free advert,” the pastor said, stating that The SCOAN has no signboard or advertisement yet attracted congregants from around the world, making it one of Nigeria's foremost tourist attractions. Citing an example, he recounted how it was the ban on televising miracles by Nigeria's National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) that actually led to the birth of Emmanuel TV, currently one of Africa's most popular television stations.

Stephen Keshi Looses Salary After Receiving Cars From Glo

Few days after he received the cars that were promised him by Mike Adenuga of Globacom, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi will be loosing a significant amount of his salary due to a new structure being promoted by the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

After a meeting of the Technical Committee of the NFF in Abuja, it was decided that all match bonuses as well as the salaries of the coaches, including Keshi should be cut down.

When Punch asked the General Secretary of the NFF, Mr. Musa Amadu, why they are reducing the pay of people who recently brought bride to Nigeria, he simply said it's due to the reality on ground.

“If you take just a simple look at the period around June and the cost implication for the country, for instance, you will understand that the measures being taken have become very necessary. We cannot continue like this; there has to be sensible auditing,” he said.

The committee also deliberated on the war of words between Keshi and his players and promised to address the issues before the team embarks on matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

My Most Heartbreaking Experience ––Actress Joke Sylva

Veteran actress, Joke Silva has shared her most heart breaking experience. She said it was something that she felt was never possible so she was shocked beyond words when she encountered it. The incident, she said, happened when she was working for her church.

In a chat with The Entertainer, the actress and mother of three recounted her ordeal thus:
“Our church, This Present House, runs several shelters for drug addicts and people who have been trafficked within and outside Nigeria; you will be surprised what happens within Nigeria.
“We have 10 year old girls being sold into prostitution. One was actually younger than 10. She had been trafficked and was being molested. It was so heart rendering. We had to buy her from the whorehouse because the madam who ran the whorehouse insisted the girl was a client’s favourite. Can you imagine?”
She however reveals that some of the girls have finally been rescued and are undergoing rehabilitation. “Today, we have been able to rehabilitate them in the shelter. They have developed their skills. Some are in boarding schools and one is in the university. The bottom line is that with just a little effort, things could be better,” she said.

Coach Keshi Receives Glo branded Cars

Super Eagles’ chief coach, Stephen Keshi was full of praises to the Chairman of Globacom, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr, for redeeming the promise of two brand new cars after he led Nigeria to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations in February.
Keshi was handed over the keys latest Range Rover Sports and Toyota Camry saloon car in Lagos yesterday by Globacom’s Group Chief Operating Officer, COO Mr. Mohamed Jameel.
The former Nigerian international hanked Dr. Adenuga for his numerous supports for the national teams and prayed for continuous success for Globacom. He said that the kind gestures would spur them to achieve more laurels for the country.
“I am short of words. I thank Dr Adenuga for these gifts. I cannot give him dollars, but I can only offer prayers. May God continue to give him good health, long life and prosperity. I also thank my Assistants : Sylvanus Okpala, Daniel Amokachie and Ike Shorunmu who made the victory happen by doing the graphics. I am only their spokesman,” said Keshi.
Eagles’ coach also thanked the President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari for taking the risk to believe in him to handle the Eagles when majority preferred a foreign coach.
He commended the media for their robust support and pleaded for more understanding and collective action on how to sustain the AFCON victory and win more laurels for the country.
While presenting the car keys to Keshi, Globacom’s COO observed that Keshi, with the AFCON victory in South Africa, symbolised the new philosophy of Globacom, Unlimited.

“The victory of the Coach Stephen Keshi tutored team underscores the ability of human beings to triumph over odds,” said Jameel.
He noted that Eagles’ victory at the last Nations Cup was won by a dint of hardwork, determination and can-do spirit.
He enjoined Keshi to continue to strive for excellence as he prepares the Nigerian senior team for future competitions like the FIFA Confederation Cup and the qualification for 2014 World Cup.
“By rewarding Keshi, Dr. Adenuga has passed a strong message to Nigerians that they would be rewarded and honoured if they selflessly undertake any national assignment they were entrusted with and excel,” said Jameel.
He promised that Globacom would continue to support the nation’s football teams through thick and thin as it had done over the years.
