North Korea To Launch Missile Tomorrow

North Korea has completed preparations for a mid-range missile launch tomorrow from its east coast, officials in Seoul have revealed just hours after foreigners living in South Korea were warned to quit the country.

The worrying warning came as speculation heightened that North Korea is planning to pull its ambassador out of the UK after a shipping container was pictured outside the London embassy.

Boxes were seen being loaded onto a large lorry parked outside the pariah state’s embassy – an ordinary home in Ealing, west London.

Seoul revealed today that foreign nationals in South Korea were told by the North to evacuate in case of a “merciless” war.

“We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war,” said the KCNA news agency, citing its Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.

The remarks come as the communist country has repeatedly said it will turn Seoul and Washington into a “sea of fire” and launch pre-emptive nuclear attacks against its enemies.

South Korean forces have been on high alert for an imminent missile launch by the communist nation, which was seen moving two Musudan missiles to its east coast last week and mounting them on mobile launchers.

Speculation had been building that North Korea could carry out a missile test as early as this week after dictator Kim Jong-un warned he could not “guarantee the safety of foreigners” after April 10.

Japan today deployed missile-defense systems at three sites around Tokyo ahead of the possible missile launch, officials confirmed.

Japan’s defense minister has also reportedly put destroyers with missile interception systems on alert in the Sea of Japan.

“As North Korea keeps making provocative comments, Japan, co-operating with relevant countries, will do what we have to do,” Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said today.

“The government is making utmost efforts to protect our people’s lives and ensure their safety,” he added.

Japan’s armed forces are authorised to shoot down any North Korean missile headed towards its territory, a defence ministry spokesman said.

“We are doing all we can to protect the safety of our nation,” chief Cabinet spokesman Yoshihide Suga said, though he and Ministry of Defense officials refused to confirm reports of a naval alert, saying they do not want to “show their cards” to North Korea.

Tensions have escalated further after North Korean authorities told embassies in Pyongyang they could not guarantee their safety from Wednesday – after saying conflict was inevitable amid joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises due to last until the end of the month.

However, no diplomats appear to have left the North Korean capital, despite a North Korean general reprotedly warning diplomats at the weekend that the situation remained “grave”.

Earlier today, North Korean labourers failed to turn up for work at a factory complex operated with South Korea, effectively shutting down the last major symbol of cooperation between the hostile neighbours.

Soaring tensions on the peninsula have been fuelled by North Korean anger over the imposition of U.N. sanctions after its last nuclear arms test in February, creating one of the worst crises since the end of the Korean War in 1953. 

Soccer-Balotelli banned for three matches after insulting official

TURIN, Italy, April 9 (Reuters) - Maverick forward Mario Balotelli was given a three-match ban on Tuesday for insulting the fourth official at the end of AC Milan's 2-2 draw at Fiorentina at the weekend.

Balotelli was due to face an automatic one-match suspension for accumulating four yellow cards when he was needlessly booked for failing to retreat at a free kick.

But Serie A's disciplinary commissioner said in a statement he had added another two matches after Balotelli's angry altercation with the match official at the end of the game. It was not clear what had upset "Super Mario".

It was awful timing by Balotelli as third-placed Milan's next two games are against second-placed Napoli and leaders Juventus as they try to wrap up the third and final Champions League spot.

Balotelli had previously managed to stay out of trouble since his move from Manchester City in January.

But his problems began on Saturday as the team travelled by high-speed train to the game in Florence and he was caught smoking in the toilet by a ticket collector.

Milan officials were told and Balotelli was fined.

So far, his misdemeanours have paled in comparison to his antics at Manchester City which included rash tackles and a incident where he set fire to his house after letting off fireworks in his bathroom.

Five people set themselves on fire in Gujarat, leaving one man dead as they protested against official plans to raze their home in a drive to remove illegal structures, police said yesterday.

According to GulfTimes

The five people, including three women, belonged to the same family and turned up at a city government office in Rajkot carrying kerosene-filled containers around noon yesterday, the police said.

Ram Sinh, a police official based in Rajkot said the group came to request the officials to stop demolition of illegal encroachments.

But when their request was not granted they poured kerosene on themselves and set themselves on fire,Sinh said.

Municipal officials in Rajkot, located 200km from the states main city Ahmedabad had declared the familys home illegal and issued an order to tear down the structure, leaving them in a desperate state, Sinh said.

The five have been identified as Rekha, Asha, Vasumati, Bharat and Girish …. Out of which Girish, who was 35-years-old succumbed to injuries in hospital,he said.

The burn victims sustained severe injuries and have been admitted to a local government hospital, where their condition is said to be stable, he added.

6 Ways To Be A Good Single Parent

Parenting is hard enough when there are two of you undertaking the task so it becomes even more difficult when there’s just one parent.

Whether you’ve become a single parent by choice or by circumstance, here are a few tips to help you get it right.

1. Have a Positive Attitude:

Children have a way of reading emotions even when adults try hard not to show them. Make peace with your status as a single parent and have a positive attitude. Focus on the benefits of single parenting and always stay optimistic. If your children see that you have everything under control, they’ll be less likely to get sad or worried. Remember that your emotions project onto your children.

2. You Are the Boss!

Establish firm, clear boundaries that leave no doubt that you are the boss in the home. Single parents often make the mistake of allowing children to become equal partners or peers, and too many children are running the show. This leads to serious individual and family problems. Children need limits. Use consistent discipline that provides clear expectations and guidelines for behaviour.

3. Don’t Try to Do it All Alone

That you’re a single parent doesn’t mean you have to shoulder all the responsibility alone. Find people who can help you with other tasks associated with parenting. The single parent frequently feels overwhelmed by the tasks and emotional overload associated with raising children alone. It is extremely important to manage time wisely and to ask for help when necessary. Assign children appropriate chores and tasks.  Let them help you out. It will strengthen their sense of teamwork and your family bond too.

4. Just Do Your Best

You have to remember that you are still only one person and you are doing a job that would be tasking even for two people. Do not allow your children to manipulate you by making you feel guilty about the situation. Give yourself credit for a job well done. Your children might not understand when they’re young but they’ll appreciate you for all your hard work eventually.

5. You Need Care Too

It is critical to your children’s well-being that you to take care of yourself. There are times when you feel like you need a break.  Make sure you relax. Ask other people to help you watch the kids while you take a break. Stress is very bad and if you ignore it, your kids might end up with no parent instead of one.

6. Show Them Love

Children with only one parent often feel deprived of affection since they’re getting it from only one source as opposed to two. Make sure your children always know that you love them. This does not mean you should spoil them. Instead, devote yourself to making sure they are nurtured emotionally and physically. The love shown by one parent can be just as sufficient as that shown by two. Single parents raise good children too!

Tragic: Nine Year Old Girl Commits Suicide Because She Was Jealous Of Baby Brother

A nine-year-old girl is thought to have committed suicide in the bathroom of her home on Sunday after telling family members that she 'wanted to die'.

The girl, identified by police as Justice Williams, was reportedly found by her distraught mother hanging from the shower frame in the family's Bronx, New York home around 8.20 p.m. on Sunday.

Police investigators believe she may have hanged herself because she was struggling to adapt to her new half-sibling - and her parents had placed her in therapy last year after she told them she was suicidal.

The mother, Tamiqua Torres, 31, went to check on her daughter because she felt that she had taken too long in the shower and upon entering found her daughter with a white cloth strung around her neck, supported by the metal shower frame.

Friends of the family told the New York Daily News that the nine-year-old had been seeing a therapist since becoming troubled by the birth of her new half-brother.

Torres and her new husband, Raymond Torres had welcomed their new baby into the world eight-months-ago and Raymond had become Justice's stepfather.

However, Justice began telling family members that 'she wanted to die' during her mother's pregnancy - which set alarm bells ringing, causing her mother and stepfather to send her to therapy.

Torres had used her pregnancy blog to explain her worries and struggles with her daughter after discovering she was going to be mother for the second time.

'We were as happy as happy good be until one day my then 8 year old woke up and decided that she wasn't exactly thrilled about being a Big Sister,' wrote Torres.

'I mean who could blame her, she spent the last 8 years all to herself being spoiled by everyone only having to share while in school.'

However, by the time the baby had arrived over the summer, Torres believed that Justice had adjusted.

'Fast forward to August when he arrived and she was happy and reassured that although her world has forever changed she loves him more than she thought she would,' wrote Torres in her blog.

'The road my family and I traveled to get where we are now was not smooth we faced many road bumps but over came them as a stronger family unit than I imagined us to be.'

Neighbors describe the horrific scene that they were confronted with on Sunday afternoon when Torres rushed out of the house with her little girl in her arms.

'I just saw the mom and the baby. She was frantic,' said Michael Millan.

'All you heard was them talking to each other, saying she was in cardiac arrest. She looked panicked. It looked she did all her crying by the time we got here. The officers told us to move, get out the way. Then we stayed inside until a cop knocked on our door.'

Neighbor Bernadette Diaz, who lives on the floor below the girl’s three-story house on Wallace Avenue in the Morris Park section, found it hard to grasp.

'It’s hard to believe that a 9-year-old even has a concept of how to do it. I mean, she must have been going through something very terrible to even think of that,' she said to CBS Local.

Another neighbor named Mia, who lives one floor below the family said she couldn't understand what had happened.

'This is a weird world that we live in to have a 9 year old actually think of killing themselves,' she said.

'The little girl, she had her whole life ahead of her. Doesn’t deserve anything like that, especially those thoughts that go through her mind.'

9 Things You Should Never Say To Your Spouse

The exchange is a reminder that even long-time, happily married couples sometimes need to watch what they say -- and how they say it. Tenant Sends Landlord To Prison Over Missing Chicken

A Nigerian landlord, Olubukunaji Obajimi, 56, has been remanded in prison after he was arraigned in court for locking his tenants inside their apartment over his missing chicken.

He was arraigned on a two-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and unlawfully locking out his tenant before Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

The landlord alleged that his tenant, Chukwunonso Okafor and his family were responsible for his missing chicken and locked all of them inside their rooms from morning till evening, insisting they must produce the chicken.

The incident happened at 55, Olubukunayo Obajimi street, Egan, outskirts of Lagos, where both reside.

They pleaded to no avail and they contacted their relation, who in turn contacted the police.

Narrating what happened, the tenant’s wife, Mrs Ngozi Okafor said they woke up and after their usual morning prayer, they discovered that their apartment was locked from outside by the landlord and they could not go out.

She said her husband, Chukwunonso asked the landlord what happened and the landlord told him that his chicken was missing and he was suspecting that one of them in his family stole it.

She said the landlord said he would release them if they provide the chicken.

She said after pleading and explaining that they had nothing to do with his chicken, he refused to listen to them and they contacted her sister who contacted the police at Igando division who rescued them.

She said there were five of them living in the apartment the landlord locked up.

The occupants included her husband and their last baby.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr P. E. Nwaka granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

He was remanded in custody pending when he will fulfil his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 25 May, 2013.

Two Women Suspected Of Witchcraft Beheaded

Two elderly women were beheaded in Papua New Guinea after being tortured for three days, a report said Monday, the latest in a string of sorcery-related crimes.

The Post-Courier newspaper said police were present during the killings last week but were outnumbered by an angry mob and could do nothing to prevent the grisly deaths.

"We were helpless. We could not do anything," Bougainville police inspector Herman Birengka told the paper, saying his officers were threatened when they tried to negotiate the women's release.

According to Birengka, who described the murders as "barbaric and senseless," the women were taken captive last Tuesday by relatives of a former school teacher who died recently.

"The two women were rounded up and taken to Lopele village after they were suspected of practising sorcery and blamed for the death of the former teacher, who was from Lopele village," he said.

They were tortured for three days, suffering knife and axe wounds, before being beheaded in front of the police who had been sent to the village to mediate, the report said.

The killings come just days after another report that six women accused of sorcery were tortured with hot irons in an Easter "sacrifice" in the Southern Highlands.

Last month, a woman accused of sorcery was stripped naked and burned to death by a mob, with Amnesty International stepping up calls for an end to sorcery-related violence in Papua New Guinea.

Amnesty has urged the government to stamp out the practice in the Pacific nation where there is a widespread belief in sorcery and where many people do not accept natural causes as an explanation for misfortune and death.

There have been several other cases of witchcraft and cannibalism in PNG in recent years, with a man reportedly found eating his screaming, newborn son during a sorcery initiation ceremony in 2011.
